Apple asks developers to start testing Push Notification Service

In an email yesterday Apple has asked all developers to start testing the push notification in applications.

Here is a copy of the email.

”Start testing your applications using the Apple Push Notification service today. Log in to the iPhone Dev Center and review the Apple Push Notification Programming Guide and Getting Started video. Team Agents can log in to the iPhone Developer Program Portal and proceed to the App ID section to create the components necessary to enable and test applications using the Apple Push Notification service.”

I logged in as Team Agent to developer portal and not all my App IDs have “Available” next to them. It looks like older App ids and generic ones that we created initially are not compatible with push notification which makes sense.
